Eric West is a very deserving winner of the James L. Eichberg Broker of the Year Award, not only for his high-level of production in 2014 but also for his leadership of West Lane & Schlager (“WLS”), his mentorship of younger brokers, his reputation of creativity and integrity among his peers, and his active involvement in his community. Eric began his real estate career in 1987, and over the last 19 years has helped grow and lead WLS into one of the premier boutique tenant representation firms in the Washington Metro Area. This is a direct result of Eric’s business acumen, reputation and above all – always treating employees, colleagues, competitors and clients with respect and dignity. While WLS has less than 20 brokers, the firm has consistently had one of highest revenues per broker in the local market – a benchmark far more indicative of production than any other, including 2014, which was one of the most productive years in Eric’s 28-year career.
Throughout Eric’s career, he has combined analytical skills, business operations and management experience and understanding of the transaction process to assist his clients achieve long term results that are measurably significant transactions. Eric has developed a specialty in not-for-profit organizations and corporations in long–term real estate planning/transactions. This has led to ongoing relationships with such diverse groups as The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Save the Children International, The Ocean Conservancy, The National Council on the Aging, The American Iron & Steel Institute and The Pew Research Center.
